What Will You Do With Today?

I have been thinking today, and believe me I have a lot of time to do that, being here most of the time by myself. lol I read many posts on Facebook and I ask myself what the heck are we doing? Most of what I see is pointless and stupid, and I have to say, I unfollow a lot of people who like to get on there and start drama and put people down. Yes, I understand this is a social network, but what happened to the social part?

I like what it says at the beginning of Days of Our Lives, mind you, I don't watch that stuff anymore. "Like sands through an hourglass, these are the days of our lives." This phrase reminds us of each person’s ephemerality on this earthly plane, and that like the grains of hourglass sand, all lives will eventually end; in other words, life is short, so make the most of it.

Some have a lot of sand, some have a little.. What is it going to matter tomorrow if you die today and haven't made the most of this life that God the Father has so richly blessed us with? Each person has the same opportunity to make the most out of their lives, so why are we striving and struggling and worrying for something that we may not be here for tomorrow?

Matthew 6:25-34 Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

When was the last time we just encouraged someone, or shared Jesus with someone? People can not survive without love. When was the last time we just loved on someone? Tell them we love them and are thinking about them? Pray with them and for them?

We live in a very self- centered world. An all about Me world. Do what feels right to Me world.... When are we going to make it an all about Jesus world? Lift up the broken, set the captives free. Be the hands and feet of Jesus. Be the Body of Christ, not some loner, doing our own thing. Jesus definitely was not a loner, and the world is a very full and lively place.

Time is short, we all know that. And our lives are like those grains of sand, trickling through the hour glass. Make the best of today, like it was your last. Tell someone you love them and that God does too. And if you don't know the Lord Jesus, Make it right with Him today. For today is the day of salvation.

Say a simple sincere prayer from your heart to God and accept His son Jesus into your heart. Pray God I am a sinner, I believe Jesus is the Son of God, who died on the cross for my sins. I believe He rose from the grave and ascended to heaven and sits on the right hand of the Father. I ask you to forgive my sins, wash me white as snow, cleanse me from all unrighousness. I thank you that I am now a child of God. My name has been written in the Lambs book of Life. In Jesus name, Amen.

I promise you it will be the best day of your life.
